Why using a licensed waste carrier matters
Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, householders have a duty of care to make sure their waste is only handed to an authorised carrier. If rubbish you gave to an unregistered "man with a van" is fly-tipped, you can receive a fixed penalty of up to £600 and be prosecuted, even if you had no idea what happened to it.
London has the highest fly-tipping rate in England, and most of it is household waste. The simple protection is to use a carrier registered with the Environment Agency, check their registration on the public register, and keep the waste transfer note you are given.

A single item or small load starts from around £50, a quarter van load from around £100, half a van from around £180 and a full van load from around £300. You only pay for the space we actually use, loading is included and the price is confirmed before we start.
Do you offer same-day rubbish removal in London?
Yes. We collect across London seven days a week, and same-day collections are usually available for bookings made in the morning, subject to crew availability in your area.
Which areas of London do you cover?
All 32 London boroughs and the City of London, from Enfield in the north to Croydon and Bromley in the south, and from Hillingdon in the west to Havering in the east.
Do I need to be there when you collect?
Not necessarily. If the waste is accessible and we have agreed the job in advance, our team can collect while you are out and send you photos when it is done.
Do I need to bag, box or carry anything?
No. Our two-person crew does all the lifting and loading from wherever the waste is, including upper floors and flats without a lift, and we sweep up before we leave.
What can you take?
General household junk, furniture, sofas, mattresses, carpets, white goods and electricals, garden waste, builders' rubble and plasterboard, office furniture and IT equipment, and the contents of garages, lofts and sheds.
What can't you take?
Asbestos, gas cylinders, chemicals, fuels and solvents, large quantities of liquid paint, clinical or medical waste and explosives. These need specialist disposal and we can point you to the right route.
Is man and van rubbish removal cheaper than a skip?
For most household jobs, yes. There is no council skip permit to buy, no waiting days for delivery, you do none of the loading, you pay only for the space used, and we take items that are not allowed in skips such as fridges and mattresses.
What happens to my rubbish after collection?
Everything goes to licensed transfer stations and recycling facilities where it is sorted. Reusable furniture and goods are passed on for reuse wherever possible, and the rest is recycled or recovered so that as little as possible goes to landfill.
Will I get a waste transfer note?
Yes. Every collection comes with a waste transfer note, which is your record that the waste was handed to an authorised carrier and disposed of correctly.
